I bought a new 02 Savage last May, and found out this bike has to be modified. The leaness and backfiring from the big cylinder had to go or I was going to get rid of it.
Where I bought the Savage they modified the carburator and put a Jardine slip-on on the beast. It runs great now, and going to keep it for a long time. I just orderd all the accesaries at a discount price from a company that advertises in Cycle World. Can't beat it.
